The Wallace Arms is a traditional country Inn, full of character and proud of being an honest pub, popular with both locals and visitors. We are open all year for real ales and quality pub food. We have two spacious en-suite double rooms offering delightful views of open countryside. In the summer you can enjoy a pint in our beer garden and when it is a little cooler you can warm by open fires. Situated just south of Haltwhistle, we are central to everywhere!

If you are looking for a traditional country Inn, rich with the honesty of Northumberland charm, offering a relaxed atmosphere, yet with good old fashioned bar gibberish from the regulars, a proper meal with locally sourced meat and veg, and a spacious en-suite room with views to be savoured, you just found it!
Firstly, we are open all year and as pubs should be, we are open every day, for food and drink. If you are walking, cycling, fishing, exploring or passing through you can stop by for a day, a night, a few or more and enjoy the delights of this wonderful area.
Here are a few of our local points of interest. We are a few minutes from the best sights of Hadrians Wall, Housteads Roman Fort and Vindolanda, as well as Walltown Crag and Steel Rigg and so much more.
We are situated by Route 68 Cycleway, The South Tyne Trail and 30 minute stroll to Lambley Viaduct. You can walk to Featherstone Castle by the South Tyne in 10 minutes. From there you are 5 minutes walk from the remains of Camp 18, the German POW camp. Haltwhistle, Centre of Britain is 5 minutes drive away. From there you can be back to the M6 at Carlisle in 20 minutes, or the A1 at Newcastle in 35 minutes, but you wouldn't want to leave.
Our accommodation comprises of two double rooms with en-suite shower. You will be treated as our personal guest, and invited to join us and the locals in the bar or you will granted your privacy should you prefer. Our rates include an English breakfast or something lighter if you wish.
Depending on when you stay, you might catch our informal music night where locals and whoever turns up have an open night playing a VERY wide selection of tunes. Join in or sit and listen. The night is usually the first and third Friday of the month, and can be a lively late bar! However you may find a quieter version around the fire on a Sunday.
Our menu offers traditional fayre, whether you enjoy a steak or a vegetarian choice, and is available in the bar or restaurant.
