Located just outside the historic Northumbrian Holiday town of Morpeth, Micklewood Park in the grounds of Longhirst Hall is the perfect base for exploring the stunning countryside, beaches and country parks of this dramatic border region.
You can choose form thirty-six beautiful self-catering holiday homes at Micklewood Park, ranging from two star to luxury four-star accommodation.
The cottages have up to five bedrooms, so you will have space, luxury and comfort to relax on a great Northumberland holiday.
All of the holiday cottages at Micklewood Park have living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, showers, bathrooms, and a separate WC's. They all come complete with everything you need for a very enjoyable stay, including all bed linen, towels, and kitchen utensils, heating and electricity: Plus you even get a welcome pack with milk, sugar, tea, and coffee.
The self-catering holiday homes at Micklewood Park are set against a backdrop of verdant green rolling countryside and parkland, and are ideal for families and groups to experience the majestic castles, historic stately homes, and World Heritage coastline of Northumberland.
Not only are there fantastic places to visit, like Alnwick Castle where the Harry Potter films were made, but there are amazing sports and outdoor activities for all the family to enjoy such as cycling, diving, sailing, flying, tennis, quad biking and even horse riding and pony trekking in the local area.
On site the facilities are brilliant with a special kids play area, which has climbing nets, rope swings, and goal posts plus lots and lots of space for children to enjoy in safety. There is also a picnic and BBQ area with six large picnic tables and a purpose built BBQ. But best of all, there is a free indoor play facility for children called The Den, where they can play pool, air hockey, table football, giant connect 4, and much more.
On arrival all children receive a special kids welcome pack and membership of the Secret Squirrel Club. The welcome pack includes dot-to-dot, colouring in pictures, secret squirrel tasks, a water bottle, baseball cay and a bag to carry everything in. Look out for the red squirrels in the park, as Micklewood Park is one of the few places in the country where you can still see this beautiful indigenous species.
